A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel roof beam via a gusset plate welded to the underside of the beam flange. One-half-inch thick beam web stiffeners are welded to each side of the beam web with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds, with additional web stiffeners provided as required by the brace supplier. The gusset plate and attachment are designed by the buckling-restrained brace supplier.
