A steel beam connects to a hollow structural section steel column using a single plate shear tab welded to the column face and bolted to the beam web with three bolts spaced at three inches typical. The connection utilizes field and shop welds as indicated with typical dimensions for vertical spacing and clearances. The drawing also shows a parallel beam connection on the opposite side of the hollow structural section column.
