An HSS102x102 structural steel hanger connects to a W200 platform beam using a 12x125 millimeter knife plate inserted into the slotted end of the HSS member. The knife plate projects 100 millimeters into the hanger and extends 75 millimeters above the top of the supporting steel beam. A 6 millimeter fillet weld secures the knife plate to the top flange of the W200 platform steel, which is set at elevation 102.756 meters.
