The concrete wall construction joint connects the first pour to the second pour using a twelve-inch long key spaced at twenty-four inches on center, with two rows of keys required where the wall thickness exceeds sixteen inches. The joint incorporates a one-and-one-half-inch keyway and typical horizontal wall reinforcement running continuously through the section. The surface of the first pour must be cleaned prior to placing concrete for the second pour.
