A steel column supports a steel cap plate at its top flange, where a five-inch deep joist bearing end connects using two one-half-inch diameter erection bolts. Steel beams frame into the column sides via bolted shear tabs. A stabilizer plate is welded to the column web below the beam connections. Steel deck spans across the top of the assembly, with a note instructing workers not to weld the bottom chords to the girder.
