Edge reinforcement and framing configuration around an isolated opening in a concrete slab on metal deck. The assembly features two number five reinforcing bars placed on each side of the opening, extending two feet six inches past the edge. An L4x4x1/4 structural steel angle and a 16-gauge closure angle frame the opening, providing a two-inch minimum bearing. Three-quarter-inch plug welds secure each bearing condition typically.
