A steel column connects to a steel base plate set upon one and a half inches of non-shrink grout over a reinforced concrete footing. The base plate is secured with hooked anchor rods embedded into the footing. A concrete slab on grade surrounds the column with a wide flange concrete blockout. The circular blockout at the exposed slab in the commons area must not be poured within the first fourteen days of the slab placement.

PROVIDE CIRCULAR BLOCKOUT AT EXPOSED SLAB ON GRADE IN COMMONS AREA. BLOCKOUT SHALL NOT BE POURED WITHIN FIRST 14 DAYS OF SLAB.
