A structural steel beam connects to a concrete wall via a five-eighths-inch by eight-inch by two-foot steel plate anchored into the concrete with four three-quarter-inch by five-inch head stud anchors. A two and one-half by two and one-half by one-quarter-inch steel angle welded to the embed plate supports the steel beam. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld secures the angle to the plate on three sides. Concrete slab-on-grade bears against the top of the connection.
