A concrete floor slab rests on a prepared sub-base and incorporates joint details to control cracking. The construction joint features continuous steel reinforcing spliced across the joint with every other dowel cut as specified in the structural notes. The control joint incorporates a sawn or formed joint cut to a depth of one-quarter of the slab thickness, with cuts required within twelve hours following the pour.
