A structural steel rod connects to a gusset plate centered on a common centerline. The connection utilizes a complete joint penetration weld with a four and a half inch minimum length typical on one side, and a five sixteenth inch fillet weld with a four and a half inch minimum length typical on the other side. The rod size and configuration are determined per elevation.
