Cold-formed steel framing is braced using a 54 mil cold-rolled channel secured to each stud with two number 10 screws vertically at four-foot intervals. An alternate configuration uses a 54 mil angle with two number 10 screws per stud, attached to the cold-rolled channel with two number 10 screws at four-foot intervals. Alternate blocking consists of a cut and bent web fastened to the stud at each end using two number 10 screws, with flanges oriented in opposite directions. Straps or cold-rolled channels are placed on sides where sheathing is omitted.
