A wide-flange beam sized per plan connects to a continuous hollow structural section column sized per plan using structural angles placed on each side of the column web. The angles are L6x4x5/8 with the long leg vertical, secured to the column with a 3/4-inch diameter through-bolt centered in a 2-inch long vertical slotted hole to allow movement. Fillet welds of 5/16-inch size connect the framing components as indicated by field weld symbols. A maximum offset distance of 1 foot 6 inches is maintained between the beam centerline and column face.
