A hollow structural section column supports a steel beam with a one-inch gap and a five-eighths-inch plate on each side welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. A half-inch plate on each side connects to the vertical laminated strand lumber member using two seven-eighths-inch diameter A325 bolts with standard holes in the hollow structural section and vertical laminated strand lumber in the plate. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the plate to the column assembly. Additional bracing information is referenced on sheet 8/S4.46.
