Non-bearing metal stud framing attaches to structural steel beams using cold-rolled channels or zees at sixteen inches on center with powder-actuated fasteners or optional welds. A deflection track secures to the framing with two number ten sheet metal screws, allowing vertical movement beneath the beam. Configurations include alignment directly under the beam flange, offset up to four inches, and conditions with applied spray-applied fireproofing.
