An HSS6x4x1/4 structural steel tube serves as a screen wall support and connects to an optional shop-applied stub column above a concrete topping slab. The base plate measures 1 inch by 8 inches and secures with four three-quarter-inch-diameter A325 slip-critical bolts at usual gauge. A 3/8-inch-thick full-depth plate with three 7/8-inch-diameter A325 slip-critical bolts connects the supporting wide-flange beam, aided by 3/8-inch full-depth stiffener plates on each side and a pair of 1/2-inch-diameter by 16-inch deformed bar anchors on each side perpendicular to the beam. A 5/16-inch fillet weld secures the assembly components. The post centers on the grid, and metal panel screens attach to the exterior per architectural drawings.
