Concrete core wall vertical reinforcement extends into a forty-two inch thick mat foundation via dowels sized and spaced to match the shear wall vertical reinforcement. All wall tie reinforcement, including hoops and crossties, extends a minimum of twelve inches into the top of the mat foundation and throughout any pits in the mat. Hook dowels or headed bars are provided at the contractor's option.
