Angle braces measuring 4x4x1/4 attach to the steel bar joists and connect to the steel beam with fillet welds sized at three-sixteenths of an inch with a length of three inches. A quarter-inch weld connects the lower brace intersection at the bottom flange of the steel beam. A six-inch wood nailer matches the beam flange width between the bar joists and is fastened with seven-eighths-inch diameter wood screws at twelve inches on center staggered with a countersink of one inch maximum depth. Angle braces are welded to the beam after the roof is installed, located within six inches from the top chord panel point or equipped with an auxiliary web.
