A suspended concrete slab over metal deck bears on a wide flange steel beam with a minimum two-inch deck bearing. A one-quarter-inch bent plate is positioned at the slab edge with its outer edge located five-eighths of an inch from the beam centerline to allow for stud attachment. The bent plate is welded to the beam with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center. Headed stud anchors are sized and spaced per the structural plan. The slab thickness is matched as required, and the assembly accommodates slab overhangs less than two and a half inches.
