A steel beam frames into a steel column supported by a steel cap plate sized per the column schedule. The beam web connects using a web connection plate on each side fastened with four bolts. Beam web stiffeners are welded on three sides to the supporting beam. Field welding with a one-quarter-inch by three-inch fillet weld on both sides is specified if any bolt holes fail to align.
