A structural steel column bears on a Grade 50 base plate measuring 1-1/2 inches thick, secured with anchor bolts and square washer plates per AISC recommendations. The column flanges are welded with complete joint penetration welds conforming to AWS D1.8-DCW standards, and the web features five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A two-inch diameter grout hole is provided typically in the base plate layout. The column centerlines and bolt spacings are dimensioned orthogonally.
