Buckling-restrained brace collar assemblies ship loose with the buckling-restrained brace and include a re-bar stop that must be removed prior to sliding the collar into position. Once the brace is fully welded to the gusset plates at both ends, the collar assembly is slid up against the edge of the gusset plates. Field welds connect the collar assembly to the gusset plate with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on either the near or far side at the erector's option. Additional welds connect the collar assembly to the core plate with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on the top or bottom side.
