A concrete slab edge bears on a structural steel beam, bounded by a twelve-gauge edge form with a maximum six-inch overhang dimension verified per architectural drawings. Two continuous number four reinforcing bars are placed at the slab edge with standard ninety-degree hooks, extending one foot six inches at outside corners and three feet past inside corners. Main slab reinforcing utilizes standard ninety-degree hooks at the slab edge. A shear stud connects the slab to the top flange of the steel beam, maintaining a two-inch minimum clearance.
