A square reinforced concrete column measures 1 foot 6 inches by 1 foot 6 inches in cross section. The longitudinal reinforcement consists of two number 9 top bars and two number 9 bottom bars placed at the corners. Confinement is provided by number 4 stirrups spaced at 8 inches on center.
