A structural steel column connects to a base plate measuring two feet six inches by one foot zero inches, secured by eight anchor bolts arranged symmetrically around the column profile. A gusset plate connects to the column and extends outward to receive a buckling-restrained brace per structural framing plans. The centerline of the column aligns with the centerline of the base plate in both directions. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld joins the gusset plate to the column.
