A suspended mechanical unit is supported from steel joists and metal roof deck using two L5x3x1/4 angles, with Unistruts specified for units weighing less than 300 pounds. Typical hanging rods coordinated by the mechanical contractor suspend the unit, secured with a five and one-half inch by three inch spacer plate one-sixteenth inch thicker than the hanging rods at third points. Additional L6x4x5/16 angles ten inches long are welded typically with quarter-inch fillet welds. The entire assembly is designed for units weighing 2500 pounds or less.
