A special concentrically braced frame connection where crossing hollow structural section braces intersect with a slotted gusset plate. The hollow structural section brace connects to the three-eighths-inch gusset plate through a slotted detail welded with typical one-quarter-inch fillet welds of six-inch length. A one-inch clearance is maintained between the framing elements.
