Cold-formed steel wall studs are braced laterally using a continuous runner channel (CRC) passing through the stud webs. A one-inch by one-half-inch gauge clip angle is fastened to each stud with two number ten screws, with the angle length specified to be no more than one-half inch less than the stud depth. The one-and-a-half-inch by one-and-a-half-inch by sixteen gauge CRC is fastened to the clip angle using two number ten screws. The vertical spacing between lateral bracing runs is limited to four feet zero inches maximum.
