A concrete curb up to 10 inches wide is cast monolithically or anchored over a concrete slab on steel deck, supported by an underlying structural steel beam. The curb is reinforced with two number four continuous horizontal bars at both the top and bottom. Three-quarter-inch diameter deformed bar anchors are spaced at each supporting beam at a maximum of 12 feet on center. The contact surface at the base of the curb is roughened to a quarter-inch amplitude for shear transfer.
