A top track connects to a jamb stud as specified in the framing schedule. The track flange is cut and bent with two number ten screws on the near side and far side, or alternately connected using a 54 mil angle measuring 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches long secured with three number ten screws on each leg. The detail provides a minimum 4-inch dimension for the header connection zone.
