A steel beam connects to a supporting steel beam utilizing a three-eighths-inch full-depth stiffener plate with standard holes welded to the web. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds are specified on three sides of the connection. The detail includes dimensional offsets of two and a half inches and three and a half inches relative to the beam flanges and deck profile.
