A pipe sleeve penetrates a metal roof deck, covered by an 18-gauge plate secured with sheet metal screws spaced at six inches on center each way. The assembly accommodates pipe penetrations where one to three deck flutes are penetrated under conditions with no added load noted on plans. For openings greater than three flutes or eighteen inches, additional framing is required per typical details. Size limits range from a twelve-inch square opening with a four-inch maximum diameter up to a forty-two-inch square opening with an eighteen-inch maximum diameter.
