A hollow structural section post is welded to a half-inch by ten-inch by one-foot two-inch embed plate using a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. The embed plate is anchored into the concrete slab per plan with four half-inch diameter by five-inch welded headed studs. Additional reinforcing includes two number four top and bottom bars measuring forty-eight inches long for a total of four, along with two number three hairpin bars at each side measuring twenty-four by four inches for a total of four. The slab edge maintains a three-quarter-inch minimum clearance.
