A masonry wall control joint uses open end blocks to form a stacked bond configuration at the joint centerline. Minimum number five horizontal reinforcing bars continue uninterrupted through the joint. Raked mortar joints at the face receive flexible sealant. Spacing between control joints is set at twenty-four feet on center maximum. Additional minimum number five reinforcing bars are placed at door and window jambs.
