A steel column connects to a concrete foundation slab via a base plate and anchor rods with one inch of non-shrink grout beneath. The slab bears on a layer of gravel fill and low volume change structural fill placed per geotechnical recommendations. An exterior slab is detailed per civil drawings, and an infill insulated metal panel is coordinated with architectural drawings at the perimeter.
