A wide-flange beam or channel frames into a hollow structural section post or hanger using a continuous shear tab passing through the hollow structural section column. The tube is slotted for the continuous shear tab and secured with fillet welds on both sides. Bolts and the shear tab are sized per the non-moment beam connection schedule. A one-half-inch cap plate is provided at the top of the post where required, and joints are sealed as indicated.
