Two number five reinforcing bars are placed with a one-inch clearance from the top of the slab as a typical condition. These bars extend two feet six inches from the grid line and feature hooks at the slab edge where applicable. The steel deck is omitted from the plan view for clarity. The supporting steel beam is sized per plan.
