A wide flange beam frames into a concrete masonry unit wall, bearing on a 1/2-inch by 5-inch by 1-foot-0-inch bearing plate equipped with two 1/2-inch diameter by 24-inch deformed bar anchors at 8-inch gauge. Three-sixteenths inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web with 3/16-inch fillet welds on three sides. Non-shrink grout is placed as required in the pocket beneath the beam bearing. Two #4 rebars, 5 feet 0 inches long, are centered on the beam within the grouted masonry cells, supplemented by chord steel per detail 9/S5.00 with the top row terminated at the pocket.
