An exterior steel stair stringer bears onto a channel section spanning between steel beams over a steel roof deck. The stringer features an L6x4x3/8 angle measuring nine and one-half inches long with a four-inch slot for a three-quarter-inch diameter bolt to allow movement. A C10x15.3 channel spans between the structural steel beams beneath the stair support. An open web steel joist frames into the supporting steel beam, which adds zero point five kips dead load and two point five kips live load to the joist. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size secure the assembly components.
