A 3 1/2 inch by 18 inch glulam brace beam spanning ten feet connects to a structural column utilizing four 3/4-inch diameter machine bolts through a gusset plate or connection angle. A headout block matching the brace beam size hangs with THA422 hangers on each end, fastened with two rows of 10d nails at six inches on center. A web stiffener extends beneath the connection at the beam per plan. The assembly provides lateral bracing and support for framing members at the column.
