Sections AA and BB detail a moment connection joining a wide-flange or hollow structural steel beam to a heavy structural steel column. The connection uses top and bottom flange connection plates bolted to the column flanges with vertical bolts spaced at one and a half inches, three inches, and one and a half inches. The beam aligns with the column centerline and transfers moment through the bolted plate assemblies.
