Cold-formed metal framing wall studs interface with the edge of a composite concrete slab supported by a structural steel wide-flange beam. A vertical slip connection resists lateral loads only and is designed by the cold-formed metal framing supplier. An eight-inch kicker brace and connection tie the framing back to the beam, with the top kicker connection located eight inches back from the slab edge. Additional information is referenced on sheet 10/S-553, and composite slab reinforcement is omitted for clarity.
