A haunch plate is welded to the steel beam web with a slotted plate detail around the web for the haunch plate length. Shear studs are specified at a minimum of two studs per foot. The connection utilizes fillet welds on both sides of the plate and is referenced to grid lines or centerlines of support. Section A shows the transverse profile of the haunch plate and beam flange dimensions.
