A metal deck bears on a wide flange steel beam with a one and a half inch minimum end bearing distance. A sixteen gauge closure angle is puddle welded to the beam following the deck welding schedule. A continuous number four reinforcing bar runs along the slab edge, which aligns with the edge of the beam flange as indicated on the architectural drawings.
