A concrete masonry unit wall bears on a continuous reinforced concrete footing with sizing and reinforcing specified per plan. Number 4 vertical dowels measuring 30 inches long are spaced at 16 inches on center with a 72-diameter lap splice into both masonry curtains. A concrete slab on grade intersects the wall where applicable with a 3-inch typical clear cover maintained at the footing perimeter. Exterior grade or paving transitions adjacent to the foundation wall according to architectural and civil drawings.
