A roof metal deck bears over a hollow structural section beam connected to a steel channel using one-inch thick plates aligned with each HSS beam at a maximum spacing of four feet. The HSS beam is fastened to the metal deck with self-drilling teks screws per the roof metal deck notes. A hollow structural section post supports the beam assembly, welded with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. A vertical clearance of four feet minimum is maintained and verified with architectural plans.
