Reinforcing bars weld to plates or angles where required, maintaining a minimum distance of five times the bar diameter from the start of the bend. All welding conforms to American Welding Society Code D1.4-05, and reinforcing designated for welding conforms to ASTM A706. Further testing and approval is required prior to welding any ASTM A615 reinforcing. A schedule provides specific weld sizes and lengths for reinforcing sizes ranging from #3 bars with three-sixteenths inch welds and two inch lengths up to #10 bars with five-eighths inch welds and seven inch lengths.
