A davit socket pedestal mounts to a structural steel beam and column assembly using welded stiffener plates. One-half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates attach to each side of the beam web, paired with a one-half-inch stiffener plate placed between the column flanges. The pedestal baseplate connects to the top flange with three-eighths-inch fillet welds. Additional stiffener plates and web connections are secured with quarter-inch and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds as detailed on the plan.
