A hollow structural section brace connects to a wide-flange steel beam using three-quarter-inch plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The wide-flange beam bears onto an existing concrete wall and is secured with seven-eighth-inch-diameter through-bolts spaced at twelve inches on center, filled with adhesive. Additional three-quarter-inch by six-inch plates are anchored at twelve inches on center as indicated. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the structural steel assembly at the wall interface.
