Steel roof joists support a metal roof deck across a structural grid line with an expansion joint. X-type bridging is provided by the joist supplier and secured with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds typical for plate and deck connections. Expansion joint dimensions and joist design upgrades are referenced to another drawing detail. A structural grid line is centered at the expansion joint gap between the framing bays.
