A structural steel beam frames into a supporting steel column or girder, carrying a concrete slab over a metal floor deck on one side and a metal roof deck supported by a steel joist or beam on the other. A one-inch clearance is maintained between the concrete slab edge and the adjacent framing. A full-depth stiffener plate is provided opposite the one-sided connection when a beam or joist connects to only one side of the support. A deck bearing angle supports the metal roof deck adjacent to the structural framing.
